To unite in union
Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root “yuj “ meaning to join together, or better yet: union.
What does union mean?
I used to think the goal of everything I was doing in my yoga practice was that one day if I stayed very dedicated and learned to move Prana (energy) just right and do the most extreme poses with ease, then that day I would finally experience this so called ‘union’.
So, I spent 3-5 hours on my mat a day. A little extreme, but now I know better.
These days, I believe that union isn’t something we work toward but it is available now.
It all depends on how we align ourselves to the present.
This can allow us to be in the flow, or experience being, or feeling the presence of the universe.
Feeling like we are infinitely connected to something bigger than ourselves.
There aren’t quite adequate words to describe it, but once you find that magic connection of breath, body, mind and spirit you’ll do almost anything to keep it or sust
